BMW just might be that company...
With the help of several short clips advertising their new line of electric vehicles, consumers are able to get a glimpse of what's to come. BMW has publicly announced the production of two lines, the BMW i3 Concept car, and the BMW i8 Concept car. According to the BMW website, "the principles of BMW EfficientDynamics have one goal: to combine efficiency with exhilaration ... We're creating the future of sustainable mobility, today."

One of the advantages of electric vehicles is zero local emissions, which BMW integrates in its advertising campaign. To prevent generating climate-harming gases, rather than using fossil fuel, electric engines uses electric currents. In this short clip, the importance of sustainability is portrayed. According to BMW engineers, "If the energy to drive is obtained from a renewable source, such as wind or hydroelectric power, fully electric vehicles are climate-neutral and conserve natural resources."
BMW i not only pushes the importance of sustainability, but also integrates the ever-changing and convenience of technology which they call "intelligent mobility." Among the sleek and authentic design of the BMW i3 and i8, owners of these vehicles have the option of custom designing services that could be used independently of the vehicle itself. Some of the options that are available is the "parking assistant" and the "traffic jam assistant."
Like every other automobile company, convincing consumers to make a change is easier said than done. First off, prices of electric vehicles are currently at the high end. Second, our society is so accustomed to gasoline cars. However, with the use of effective marketing and advertising campaigns, BMW can create a stronger awareness of its brand and its new line of electric vehicles. BMW has partnered with Apple to create an iAd Campaign ...
What do you think about BMW i's way of marketing their new line of electric vehicles? Do the short clips capture your attention? Are you lured in, wanting to learn more about these vehicles? Is there something you liked or didn't like about the advertisement? Do you think that partnering up with iAd to create a campaign was beneficial for the company?
Nice post. I like these new concept cars. However, they look kinda like the Audi design in the movie iRobot :)
ReplyDeleteI agree these new cars are pretty cool. This BMW is in the new Mission Impossilbe movie.
DeleteThis post was very informative. Many companies are now trying to construct and manufacture a vehicle that are high efficient and will help reduce CO2 emissions. BMW's model looks like it can compete with other electric vehicles that are being made. These short clips of their model did catch my attention. I think that partnering up with iAd will be good for campaigning for the company, because nowadays everyone is in to technology and with the popularity of the ipad, it should get a lot of advertising.
ReplyDeleteThese short clips caught my attention as well. However, it made me question how promising these clips are...
DeleteMany car companies make their commercials very interesting in creative ways, but I wonder how much of it is true...
BMW is a beautiful car. I love how Apple teamed up with BMW, very catchy!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you about BMW teaming up with Apple. I feel like many people tend to ignore commercials and advertisements shown on TV or even on YouTube. By using iAds, people get more of an engaging experience when viewing the ad and I think that is very important in today's society.
